Gender Sensitisation

Following the guidelines on the prevention and deterrence of sexual harassment in the workplace laid down by the Supreme Court of India in its 13 August 1997 judgement on the Writ Petition (Criminal) Vishaka vs. State of Rajasthan, the core management of Dolphin College of Life Sciences has appointed a Working Group on Sexual Harassment headed by Principal from 2010. The Report of the Working Group was accepted by the Executive Council of Dolphin PG college. The Dolphin PG College Policy against Sexual Harassment was announced in a circular dated 25 February 2010, and the Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) was set up vide a Dolphin Group notification dated 22 July, 2010.

The Rules and Procedures of the GSCASH were approved in principle by the Dolphin Core Management. The GSCASH has three major functions: 1. Gender Sensitisation and Orientation, 2. Crisis Management and Mediation, and 3. Formal Enquiry and Redressal.

The Dolphin G College model became a standard for other educational institutions of the State to follow.

The GSCASH will start functioning from its present office space from July 2011.
